Subsidies and grants for solar panels in Mallorca and Balearics 2024

In 2024, the Government of the Balearic Islands and the IDAE have started the Investment Plan for the Energy Transition of the Balearic Islands (PITEIB). The plan includes help lines to promote renewable energies in various economic sectors, such as the industrial sector (Polígonos), small businesses (SMEs) and also for the important nautical sector. It also promotes the promotion of energy communities and electric mobility, encouraging the installation of photovoltaic pergolas and charging points for electric vehicles in parking lots. It would be €52,000,000, of which €48.5 million comes from the #NextGeneration funds.

FOTOPAR2024 aid: Self-consumption for individuals

€3,500,000 are allocated to promote self-consumption projects, with the application period open from January 15 to March 30, 2024. This initiative is aimed at individuals with projects of up to 5 kWp and 30 kWh of storage. The subsidized rates are as follows:

PITEIB aid

Collective self-consumption, thermal renewables and zero-emission mobility

These aid are intended for energy communities, companies and public entities located in industrial estates.

Supported projects can include installations of up to 1,000 kWp and 500 kWh of storage, as well as the use of shared vehicles and zero-emission shuttle buses. The aid can increase up to 60% if self-consumption is carried out with a canopy or involves the removal of asbestos.

With a budget of 15 million euros, the application period is open from January 15 to July 15, 2024 and projects must be executed before July 31, 2025.

Self-consumption communities of owners and energy efficiency

With the aim of promoting self-consumption in communities of owners and improving energy efficiency, a subsidy program is launched with an allocation of 8 million euros.

The application period runs from January 15 to July 15, 2024. These grants are intended for communities of owners interested in incorporating self-consumption systems with a capacity of up to 100 kWp and 100 kWh of storage.

In addition, efficiency actions in lighting and water pumping are promoted, with the aim of reducing final energy consumption by 30%. The subsidies offer €710/kWp, with an increase in aid if self-consumption is carried out under a canopy or involves the removal of asbestos. In this case, the projects must be executed before July 31, 2025.

Autoconsumo comunidades de propietarios y eficiencia energética

Con el objetivo de promover el autoconsumo en comunidades de propietarios y mejorar la eficiencia energética, se pone en marcha un programa de subvenciones con una dotación de 8 millones de euros.

El período de solicitudes va del 15 de enero al 15 de julio 2024. Estas ayudas están destinadas a comunidades de propietarios interesadas en incorporar sistemas de autoconsumo con una capacidad de hasta 100 kWp y 100 kWh de almacenamiento.

Además, se promueven actuaciones de eficiencia en iluminación y bombeo de agua, con el objetivo de reducir en un 30% el consumo de energía final. Las subvenciones ofrecen 710 €/kWp, con un aumento de ayuda si el autoconsumo se realiza bajo una marquesina o implica la eliminación de amianto. En este caso los proyectos deben ejecutarse antes del 31 de julio de 2025.

How to apply for aid for self-consumption in the Balearic Islands?

The application will be submitted electronically along with certain documentation that will need to be collected, filled out and delivered, in addition to a detailed budget for the installation project. Reduction in personal income tax

RDL8/2023 extends the deduction of 40% of the amounts paid from the entry into force of RDL19/2021 and until 12/31/2024 for the works carried out to improve the consumption of non-renewable primary energy in the habitual residence or any other property owned by you that is rented.

In other words, if we install a self-consumption system at home, we can deduct 40% of the investment, with a maximum of €3,000, if we demonstrate that thanks to the action carried out we save 30% of primary energy consumption. renewable or we achieve an A or B energy classification in the house's energy efficiency certificate.

To demonstrate this savings, it is necessary to have an energy efficiency certificate for the house no older than 2 years and a second certificate after the installation of the solar panels.

This certificate shows the consumption of non-renewable primary energy and, by comparison, allows you to calculate whether the savings achieved reaches the required 30%, and/or verify the energy classification of the home.

It is also important to note that the maximum annual base ranges between 5,000 and 7,500 euros per year depending on each specific case.
